St. Marks Family Mission Day 1
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12
This is our Family Mission Trip verse for 2019! We are working to be God's ambassadors to those here in St. Charles, IL were we are serving and to each other as we live, work, play, and serve together, keeping in mind God's word to do unto others in love as you would have them do unto you!
After a prayer with Pastor John, Pastor Chris, and other staff members, our five families left Faith this morning for a scenic drive in the country (well an unplanned scenic drive in the country thanks to a closed road and the blessing of GPS) where we got to marvel at God's creation driving by a forest preserve and a historic windmill! We arrived at St. Mark's Lutheran Church where we were greeted by Pastor Tim Bayer (so great to reconnect with him!) and their new DCE intern, Alex, who actually grew up in St. Charles, MO!
After moving in to our new home for the next few days, we made plans for packing sack lunches for Lazarus House and the kids added their original art to the lunch bags. We were treated to a dinner of delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats grilled by Pastor Tim and got to connect to some of St. Mark's members over dinner and great conversation!
After dinner we laughed our way through a hilarious game of "Telephone Charades" and Donna Auer closed us out with a great devotional reminding us that: Ask and it will be given to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. Everyone who asks will receive. He who searches will find. The door will be opened to the one who knocks. Matthew 7: 7-8
We are blessed to be a blessing! Until tomorrow...
