I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with 3 sisters and 1 brother. I was brought up in the Lutheran faith and attended a Lutheran grade school and Lutheran high school in the Milwaukee area. I knew from an early age (7 years old) that I wanted to be a teacher. I attended Concordia University in River Forest, IL. and received a B.A. in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood and Psychology.
In the summer of 1983, I was busy with college graduation, marriage (to my high school sweetheart, John Brunette), and a move to St. Louis for John to begin his seminary studies. I taught at Salem Lutheran School in Affton, MO while John attended seminary. In 1987 John graduated from Concordia Seminary, and we moved to Fresno, CA for his first call. We had our first daughter, Rachel.
After 3 years of living in Fresno, CA, John received a call to Faith – Oakville. I continued to teach in a volunteer capacity at Faith, and we added 3 more sweet girls to our family. (Hannah 1991, Joy 1993, and Michala 1998) In 2006, I officially came on staff part-time in Kids Ministry. Working with kids and their families has been a passion that God placed in my heart in first grade! I am blessed to be able to do what I am so passionate about, and share the truth of God’s love with others.
