Connecting Students to Jesus

In Student Ministry, we seek to connect students from 5th - 12th grade to the extraordinary life found in Jesus, through ministry designed for their specific age group. Student Ministry at Faith offers: Fusion 56, The Landing, Confirmation, First Communion Instruction, and student mission trips. These ministries have unique dynamics, ranging from creative games to awesome worship; along with teaching God’s Word and opportunities for large and small group discussion. The consistent thread for the students is showing them what it means to be a disciple of Jesus who makes disciples wherever they live, work, and play.

The Landing meets in the Hangar from 6 - 8 p.m.

What is the Landing?

The Landing is a gathering of 7th - 12th grade students who come together to build community, enjoy a meal, explore the Bible, and worship God.

What should I expect?

To eat, play games, and hang out with friends. Then move into worship and hear from God’s Word. After that, we break into groups to share what is happening in our lives and learn how to apply that to God’s Word.

Come check it out and bring a friend along!

All 5th and 6th grade students are welcome to join us at Fusion 56 where they will have the opportunity to connect with other students while learning about their faith. Each week we have fantastic worship, games, and talk before we move into small groups. In these groups, we FUSE God's word with each student's life.

Communion
Instruction Class

September 17 | 4 - 7 p.m.
the Hangar at Faith - Oakville
Includes dinner at 5:30 p.m.

At Faith Lutheran Church, students ages 6th grade and up have the opportunity to begin partaking in Holy Communion. As a congregation, we have separated communion from confirmation and given our students a choice to be instructed and take communion earlier. We view this as an early entry into Student Starting Point, our Confirmation process.

We expect students to enroll in Student Starting Point following the Communion Instruction class. At least one parent and their student(s) must attend one of these classes.

Student Starting Point

2017 Session

TBD
Sundays | 10:45 a.m.
Faith - Columbia

The next session will begin next winter. Earlier sessions are available at our Oakville Campus.

Student Starting Point is offered to all 7th and 8th grade students. This community will cover the basics of our Christian faith as understood by Lutherans. This will allow parents, along with their child, to decide when they will commit to the process. Very simply, we believe these changes hold true to the purpose of Confirmation; to affirm the faith that is given in baptism, while at the same time creating new opportunities for us to reach our current students and new students from our community.

Mission Trips

July 1 - 8
Lutheran Valley Retreat Center
Colorado

All graduating 6th - 12th grade students are invited to join us this summer as we partner with Lutheran Valley Retreat for our Mission Colorado trip! We want our students to be inspired, challenged, and meet Jesus in a whole new way. Mission Colorado will be a combination of adventure, fun, worship, teaching, and engaging services. We’ll get to enjoy all of the Colorado fun; mountain biking, repelling, and even white water rafting. Each day we will also spend time serving to restore the camp and serving the community around the camp. This trip will be a wonderful opportunity to have great new experiences and grow in your relationship with Jesus. This awesome trip is one you won’t want to miss. So, the question shouldn’t be whether or not you’re going but rather, “who are you going to bring?”

The cost is $450 per student with a $250 non-refundable deposit due at registration.
